Why choose De-Charles?

At De-Charles, the views of service users lie at the very heart of our partnership based services. The way the care is provided and the attitude of individual carers can have a significant effect on how clients cope.

Needs change over time, so support and care should be flexible and it should recognise the different backgrounds from which each client comes in terms of culture, religion and ethnic background. Our services help to build up the self-esteem of clients. Being committed to the principles of inclusion, we support service users to lead as full a life as possible in the community, despite the level of and any extend of physical, sensory or learning disability that they may have.

We work to facilitate access to mainstream activities which provide service users with opportunities to achieve real community presence and to develop valued social roles.

De-Charles’ culturally diverse workforce is very good for our service users for the following reasons:

It provides them with care experience from different cultures.
We are able to provide care for service users who cannot speak English by using carers from those cultures.
Service users can benefit from native food prepared by carers from their cultures.
Above all, it is good for our equal opportunities principle.
